yes that's correct, this is the overture from bernstein's musical adaptation of the book.

awesome overture! apparently the only part of the entire operetta that bernstein orchestrated himself, though?
this brings to mind 'prelude, fugue and riffs' for me.

ahhh i forgot which year.. i think it was 06 or maybe 05 that Boston Crusaders had Candide in their show. It wasn't bad :/
