USe BPM engine - OTHER MUSIC.
The BPM engine won't effect the searching of music in any way. It's for when VDJ scans the song for gain and BPM.
The BPM detect isn't perfect, but it does an OK job.

should i use the bpm engine = techno/house or the other music bpm engine... also
how should i search my music even though i have techno and dance, should all of it be under the techno/house bpm or other music bpm search?

Unfortunatly no.
You must open a second window of vdj for 4 decks. That runs into soundcard conflicts and hardware issues.
