Lara was the best of his generation. He was only one of his kind. He was a class apart from the rest. For sheer batting talent, I would put Lara ahead of ponting, Inzimam and Tendulkar. They are all second to Brian Lara. Tendulkar has more records because he played more test matches and in one dayers more overs as an opener.

never seen don batting, may be he was good in his time. but brian is the modern day don bradman. at the end of the day we only remember the cricketing shots and lara has all the shots in his bat. great human being very down to earth. wish him all the best for his rest of the future.

Well, all this means Lara is a great batesman and can can turn out the tables anytime. This is what he was doing.
The buttom line is; DO NOT MESS WITH LARA!

Most of you guys think that Lara is playing aggressive etc. Well just see the run rate when lara got in. It was below 3. For any team to win a test, fast scoring is needed -- so Lara was filling the gap.
He isn't just hitting like Sehwag or some mad guy, but it is strategic stroke-play.
At one point the comm. makes a point that Kaneria was taking wickets, so it was needed to get him out of the screen. That's what he did. |
