Poisson Dieppois replica Alpine A310 at Val de Vienne
This is the first of two videos showing my "Poisson Dieppois" replica Alpine A310 at Val de Vienne circuit in France, Sunday 17th August 2008. The occasion was French Alpine club AGC 86's 16th annual meeting at this circuit. As it was the car's first circuit experience since the build was completed, I was driving cautiously and allowed most cars to pass. At least, for the first session....after that, the car was tested. It corners with a superb flat attitude and once the engine rebuild is carried out, it'll go as good as it looks!
The original "Poisson Dieppois" sponsored A310 was built to race at Le Mans in 1977. In the race, the car achieved 137 laps in 17 hours before a persistent water leak lead to retirement. Still a superb effort for a small private team. The drivers, Bernard Decure (owner/driver), Jacky Cauchy (Cochise) and Jean-Luc Therier battled well and should receive more recognition for this feat than is usually given.
