Thanks, I hate it when I land on an ad page that has nothing to do with what I'm looking for. Wastes my time and makes me skeptical of clicking on an ad in the first place. Google still has some great features but I have a low tolerance for ending up where I didn't want to go.

What about Thomasnet and Globalspec? When I google Ball Bearings they have an adword ad and then the user is sent to their "directory" which is paid inclusion.

There is a limit to how many times people can click (or ask their friends to click) on their own ads, and Google catches many of those "self-clicks" anyhow. The vast majority of clicks on Adwords ads is still done by people who have a genuine interest in what the ads have to offer.

you misunderstand the issue. People are clicking JUST to get fees. They have no interest in the product.

I'm sorry but I don't understand what the fuss is all about. On the users' end, nobody points a gun at them and forces them to click on ads. They click because they are interested in what an ad has to offer. On the advertisers' end, they are willing to pay for peaple clicking on their ads. Sites - any sites, be it Google itself or an "ads-only" landing page - only increases the chance that the two ends meet. So please let economy run its course and don't try to interfere. |
