I agree. Slipknot just can't compare to At the Gates. At the Gates did so much for the melodic death metal genre. I'm sorry I couldn't see them on their final tour. I really wanted to hear this live.

Göteborg influenced so much, they made Death Metal the genre that it is.
I'm just saying you need some respect for most of the bands out there. Even Slipknot, who worked hard to get to the mainstream... (not that it is a good thing to be there)

Yeah, people are like "stop being so fucking genre freak man", but you have to specify genres here. Death metal can be everything from the melodic kind here to people using chainsaws on instruments sounding stuff. I like the melodic kind, not the rest, so I speak it :P |
